1. No extra software is required to run our GIS program.  You only need to have access to the internet and a web browser.

2. The speed of accessing our mapping system is dependent on your internet access (dial-up will be slow, while DSL or High Speed will be extremely fast).

3. The City of Quinte West’s GIS program is constantly being updated with additional information and functionality, which has helped make it one of the most advanced programs in the Province.

4. To search any property in the City - just click on the Field Glasses Icon [], highlight the ward where the property is located, and then you can type in the 911 address.

5. To search any layer / feature, the Blue "i" [] located under the layers tab must be highlighted in black [] (note, only one layer may be searched at any time), then click on the Circled "i" Icon [] located above the map and now you may begin searching.

6. You can advertise your business, development or vacant residential / agricultural land at a very low cost.  The intent of this service is to promote business and development in Quinte West. Click here for GIS Fee information.

7. You can create your own maps using our GIS site.  Please refer to our Step-by-Step manual.

8. You can zoom into any Tourism / Special Interest Features or any built up area by using the quick zoom feature located at the bottom of the map.  This is an excellent way to surf the many interesting areas in the City.

9. The GIS site will be "down" periodically due to site maintenance by the GIS staff.  This is necessary to ensure our site is as up-to-date as possible.
