Welcome to QuinteWestMaps.com. On this site, the City of Quinte West is making interactive geographic information available "on-line" to residents, visitors, Municipal Councillors and staff.

Here you will find a variety of maps ranging from street maps to thematic maps displaying different types of information about the City. Maps are displayed using the new web/internet based Geographic Information System (GIS), and in Adobe Acrobat Reader (pdf) format.

Web Based GIS

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is the input, the storage, the manipulation, analysis, reporting, and output of digital spatial data using computers and peripherals. The City of Quinte West has had a GIS Division as part of the Planning & Development Department since 1999.

The web based GIS has interactive tools that the user can zoom in and out, query information, measure, calculate areas, and print custom pdf maps for personal use. You can control the amount of information displayed on your map by turning the layers on and off. It is intended for users who have high speed internet but can be used on dial-up connections (you will just have to wait longer). Make sure you have any pop-up blockers turned off in your web browser when using the web based GIS.

PDF Maps

PDF format maps are Adobe Acrobat files that will allow you to search, zoom, and print maps such as the City of Quinte West street map. They are less powerful than the GIS system but are very useful.
